ReplyDeleteI don't necessarily agree with the thoughts presented, i like the sweeping and starkly expressed form of them. The ideal would be the wide eyed curiosity of the child combined with the emotional self-control / wisdom / serenity of the old seer, but it's a difficult combination to pull off. And I'm still waiting for serenity, although little things don't bug me so much.

ReplyDeleteis the old seer even truly serene? i imagine them under considerable pressure from all the spiritual turbulence they've absorbed. going a bit mad but keeping up a stoic exterior. you know, maybe i wouldn't want to be one after all...
